With layoffs. HAHAHAHAHA, just kidding. But not really.

I don’t know, donuts? Donuts have happened before. I remember eating a caramel bacon donut. It was super good, but a little unsettling as well. Another time there was, like, a fruit basket. Apples and oranges and bananas and, oddly enough, an avocado or two.

I work in advertising (media analytics, the sexist ad job. /) and I love love love this blog. Helps keep me sane!

Hi! :) I love your blog! I literally just laugh out loud whenever I see winner headlines. :)) Anyway, I'm about to start as an intern at an ad agency soon, and I'd love to hear a more personal account about the work. For starters, are you a copywriter or an art director? How does a day usually go? :)

I am a copywriter.

I usually roll in around 10:00, have a cup of coffee, make a blog post, make my morning chat rounds, and do a little work before lunch. Lunch can last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half. Then I come back, do some work, go poop, hang out, get coffee, do some more work, make another blog post. Etc and so on.

Just kidding. That’s on the slowest of slow days. But I am lucky in that the agency I work at has great work/life balance, so there’s a lot of freedom to do things like that during the day.

As an intern: pay attention to everything. Be willing to do anything. Don’t develop an attitude. Be enthusiastic. Make friends. Enjoy yourself. You’re there to learn.
